How To: Remove 350Z Driver Side Tweeter
Brought to you by Sac City Auto Parts—Your Nissan & Infiniti Specialist in California.
1. Window Switch Removal [00:10]
-
Locate the small plastic circle cover inside the window switch area and pop it off.
-
Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw hidden underneath.
-
Carefully pry up the window switch panel, pull it out, and unplug the electrical connector [00:33].
2. Accessing Door Panel Bolts [00:44]
-
Use a flathead screwdriver to pop off the beauty cover behind the interior door handle.
-
Using a 10mm socket with an extension, remove the three 10mm bolts located behind the handle cover [01:02].
3. Releasing the Door Panel [01:11]
-
Reach into the opening at the bottom of the door and pull firmly to release the panel clips.
-
Once the panel is loose, reach behind to undo the door lock/latch actuator cables and set the panel aside [01:21].
4. Removing the Tweeter Cover [01:34]
-
Caution: The tweeter covers are very fragile and break easily if forced.
-
Pop the tweeter assembly out from its clips.
-
Pro Tip: Once popped out, slide the assembly down and then out. The top of the cover is tucked under the window rubber, so pulling straight out will snap the tabs [01:43].
5. Disconnecting the Tweeter [01:52]
-
Once the cover is free, unplug the wire from the factory connector. If the car has aftermarket speakers, you may need to snip any custom zip ties or wiring [02:03].
