How to Remove a 350z Shift Knob & Bezel

How To: Remove 350Z Shift Knob & Bezel

1. Remove the Shift Knob [00:09]

  • Twist the shift knob counter-clockwise (lefty-loosey) to unscrew it from the shifter stalk. It should come off easily by hand.

2. Position the Shifter [00:25]

  • Move the shifter into a rearward gear, such as 2nd, 4th, 6th, or Reverse. This provides better clearance and makes it easier to pull the bezel up and out.

3. Unclip the Bezel [00:31]

  • Place your hands at the base of the bezel (near the cup holder area).

  • Lift up firmly to release the two main clips. Once they pop up, pull the bezel slightly toward the rear of the car to unlock it from the front dash section [00:37].

4. Disconnect the AC Ribbon [00:42]

  • Caution: Do not pull the bezel away too quickly. There is a thin AC control ribbon cable attached to the back of the panel.

  • This ribbon is extremely fragile. Carefully depress the tab on the connector to unplug it. If this ribbon breaks, the entire AC control unit will need replacement [00:49].
